Znaczenie drobnoustrojów z rodzaju Gallibacterium w patologii drobiu

Drobnoustroje kształtujące mikrobiom w naturalnych miejscach bytowania na ogół nie wywołują zakażenia, posiadają jednak potencjał chorobotwórczy, mogący ujawnić się w sprzyjających dla nich warunkach. Choroby drobiu, a zwłaszcza infekcje wywołane przez rezydującą mikroflorę, nie tylko negatywnie wpływają na dobrostan zwierząt, ale są również przyczyną strat w przemyśle drobiarskim. Gallibacterium anatis (G. anatis), występuje na całym świecie jako ważny patogen oportunistyczny, powodując spadek przyrostu masy ciała ptaków, straty w produkcji nieśnej, a także zwiększenie śmiertelności w stadach drobiu (Krishnegowda i wsp., 2020).
