Epidemiologia zakażeń koronawirusowych u ptaków wolnożyjących

 Dzikie ptaki łączą wszystkie części świata poprzez coroczne cykle migracji, nie zważając na ustanowione przez ludzi granice poszczególnych państw, a nawet na zasięg kontynentów. Chociaż są one rezerwuarem wielu różnych gamma- i deltakoronawirusów, wciąż wiele zagadnień m.in. z zakresu ich ekologii, epidemiologii czy ewolucji pozostaje w sferze domysłów. Największymi barierami są, paradoksalnie, duże ograniczenia w pobieraniu próbek (większość danych została wygenerowana na podstawie próbek pobieranych w celach monitoringu wirusa grypy ptaków) ale także możliwości techniczne.
