Alternatywne ściółki w odchowie brojlerów

 Jednym z najważniejszych czynników, wpływających na dobrostan ptaków podczas ich odchowu, jest ściółka. Zapewnia ona ptakom nie tylko środowisko do wyrażania naturalnych zachowań, takich jak grzebanie, ale również znacząco wpływa na mikroklimat w pomieszczeniu –m.in. na poziom zapylenia czy stężenie szkodliwych gazów, np. amoniaku. Wybierając ściółkę, producent powinien zwrócić uwagę, by materiał spełniał kilka podstawowych wymogów, wśród których najważniejsze to: zdolność pochłaniania wilgoci z odchodów, neutralizacja powstającego w czasie odchowu amoniaku, ciepłochronność (szczególnie ważna w pierwszych dniach po wstawieniu piskląt do kurnika) oraz zapewnienie odpowiedniego podłoża dla poruszania się ptaków.
