Protektotypy IBV - znaczenie, ogólne założenia strategii oraz immunologiczne podstawy skuteczności

Zakaźne zapalenie oskrzeli (ang. Infectious Bronchitis - IB) jest wirusową, wysoce zaraźliwą chorobą kur. Czynnikiem etiologicznym IB są koronawirusy (Infectious Bronchitis Virus- IBV) należące do wirusów, często zmieniających swoje właściwości genotypowe, antygenowe, tropizm tkankowy, patogenność, a przez to formę kliniczną samej choroby. Główny mechanizm zmienności IBV polega na mutacjach, w obrębie genu kodującego zewnątrz otoczkową podjednostkę S1 białka wypustowego S, a biorąc pod uwagę fakt, że podjednostka ta determinuje tropizm tkankowy oraz stymulację swoistych mechanizmów immunologicznych, wpływa to na obserwowaną częstotliwość przypadków przełamywania odporności poszczepiennej przez terenowe szczepy IBV.
