Jaja głuszców (Tetrao urogallus) skorupy bez tajemnic

Grubość skorupy zależy od wielu czynników: genetycznych (Francesch i in., 1997), wieku samicy i jej kondycji (Peebles i Brake, 1987; Roque i Soares, 1994), żywienia, wielkości jaja (Çiftci i in., 2003; Boersma i in., 2004; Castilla i in., 2009), czasu spędzonego w gruczole skorupowym, kolejności zniesienia w cyklu, a nawet barwy skorupy (Gosler i in., 2005; Krystianiak i in., 2005; Yang i in., 2009; Hassan i in., 2013).
